Together with some of my best sponsors and cooperatives I got a chance to visit the local kindergarten, Espira – The mission was to give away some software and lectures (which is probably the only way I can contribute) to the kindergarten employees. The software and games I gave away will make the computers more fun, both for the employees and for the children. I was a bit nervous about giving lectures like this, but in great company – with motivated and interested employees, it was just fun fun fun! Hopefully we all learned something as well!

The hand-picked best of the best IT resources of the kindergarten!
VSO PhotoDVD
The main application, in which we spent most time, is the VSO PhotoDVD – which will make it possible for the kindergarten to produce DVD’s with pictures of the children. Each year this kindergarten gives away picture CD’s with personal pictures to each childrens family – this year they will give away DVD’s with pictures, music, transitions and the whole package, giving the families a possibility to watch their kids from the comfort of their couch on their big screen TV. Thanks to VSO who gave away 4 licenses to this project!

Esselte
When Esselte Norway found out I was going to do this project they wanted to contribute as well giving away 100 colorful DVD covers for the PhotoDVD’s. Thanks to these quality covers the parents can expect a nice gift from Espira soon!
Opera
All of the red USB memory sticks you can see on the pictures are gifts from Opera. The files I used for the presentations and the coursing fitted nicely on these USB-sticks, so thanks to Opera for also contributing to make this a very nice day!
Easybits Magic Desktop
The next application we installed and learned how to use, and how to present to the kids, was Magic Desktop by Easybits. This Desktop “Operating System” is a safe computer environment for children. It contains games, paint software, webcam application, word processor and other goodies for all the children in the kindergarten. This software is quite unique, making it possible to hide the real operating system in the background and preventing any damage to other applications. There will be a review of Magic Desktop on System-log.com in the near future.

Learning about new software is fun!
Minimedia
If all of the previous applications weren’t enough, Minimedia, a Norwegian game developer provided 4 games to each kindergarten department as well. These are titles that are known to the children from books or television/movies. I’m certain the kintergarten will be filled with sound from these great games in the near future. I will also write about these games at System-log.com in the future – showing how your computer can be configured and setup in the best possible way for children.

Games from Minimedia.no – great fun!

When all the computer “work” was over, it was time to pick up the two girls – It is great weather in Norway nowadays, and my youngest hopeful thinks it is great digging in sand… yey!

Sand is great fun!!

What a great way to treasure memories with a slideshow with the best pics and music !
I’m curious, what music did you use for the kids slideshows ?
Thank you so much Annelise, I hope the parents will enjoy the Photo DVD as well!
Well, I do hope the employees at the Kindergarten are more creative than me.. on my example video, I used “Umbrella by The Baseballs”
